Voters may be welcoming a Kennedy comeback in U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s backyard, but they aren’t yet extending the embrace to Brown’s Democratic re-election opponent, according to a new UMass Lowell/Boston Herald poll.

The poll shows Brown remains popular in the new 4th Congressional District — which includes the GOP incumbent’s hometown of Wrentham — and is viewed nearly as favorably as Democratic congressional hopeful Joseph P. Kennedy III.

But Democratic Senate challenger Elizabeth Warren continues to lag behind Brown, the Kennedys and other top Democrats
